Anime NYC’s New 4-Day Format Ends with a Classic Con Farewell

the last day of a convection is always a unique experience because the sweet spot in a topical three day con is the middle day. one of the great things about Anime NYC‘s new four day format is that it now has more prime time to work with programming wise. While the first Thursday felt more than a little empty because it started at 4 PM it’s last day felt like any last day of a anime con complete with swap meet and vendors slashing prices on merch the don’t want to ship back home.

But that’s not a bad thing. Lot’s of people lament the end of a con and often wish there was more to do, but if you’re willing to to go to something you’ve never heard of you can find panels that become yearly traditions.

In some ways the final day of a con is like a sad reminder that we all have to go home to our real lives that don't care about the incredible screening of this new show we just saw or the autograph of the legendary mangka we got. However it‘s not an empty day and the people you meet don’t have to fade out like the final scene of a movie. These Cons are reminders of the fact that there are others like us out there (140,000 others yo be exact) people who can’t help but love anime manga and video games, other otaku. so in addition to sitting in a fun relaxed interview with some voice actors remember to make some new friends and take some great pictures after all August 20th 2026 is right around the corner and I can't wait to go. hope to see you there!
