As an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's

Isakai stories like Assassin are a dime a dozen. However the style and execution of this show set it apart. It has the look of a classic Record of Loadoss wars era show, While this doesn’t put it on par with something like Mushoku Tensei this Reto high fantasy anime aesthetic does separate Assassin from its peers and it’s notably more edgy treatment of it’s characters help it somewhat stand out when held up to it’s best comparison, Shield Hero. This was surprising enough to make me watch consistently even if the show’s story is well worn territory. The whole show feels like an experiment in trying to see if anime fans will watch isakai trash if it’s produced at a higher quality than normal. It’s weird, interesting but weird.
