Dan Da Dan season 02: 2 Found 2 Family

It’s hard to do something that feels truly fresh on the Shonen action space. This is for a bunch of different reasons one primary on is that the Shonen Jump formula topically dictates how the flow of your average story goes, that’s why so many stories in the genre feel like echoes of one’s that came before. Dan Da Dan brakes this mold by centralizing the Romance between the main characters instead of just sidelining it like most shows of its peer group would. Now that the show’s on its second season it’s deep in its plot and while I still love it, it does feel like eating your second slice of cake. 

I know people really love Dan Da Dan's story, but to me it fundamentally feels similar to how JoJo’s works in that by the time you’re tired of an individual arc’s concept, the show is already on to its next idea. I Love this because each arc comes with its own new character. That ads a new dynamic to the lovable group of weirdos that is Dan Da Dan’s main cast. By far my biggest complaint with the show is where thay end the seasons. Last season ended with Momo about to be sexually assaulted in a hot spring. The second season ends much less menacingly which is good but it like season one end what feels like two episodes into it’s new arc. The puzzling part of this is that the show has cooldown episodes in between arcs where the show could end more cleanly.
